I went to the Australia Society Barbeque last Saturday.
Well you can’t have an Aussie barbie without lamingtons. There were really cute little pavlovas with strawberries and kiwi fruit too - except I ate it before remembering to take a pic.
The J-ster looked gorgeous as usual. Although I regret not getting a ohto of GG in her cute white shirt ans exposed belly button (with pierce). It’s funny - it’s actually rarer to meet an Aussie girl without her belly button pierced of late…
The barbie was great and there was heaps of food and drink flowing - the baked salmon was to die for and it was worth the money…but for some reason I had trouble getting into the party mood. Too much on my mind I guess. It was much more fun being toned down and listening to people talk. Oddly enough I was sitting at a table full of Americans…I don’t think they really understood the pavlova thing…

Ahh… I sure miss those bbqs. Where are they held these days? During my time they were on the lawn behind the ambassador’s residence. But with the “new” embassy bldg…?
One of the americans actually didnt like meringue, so i sneaked myself another to make up for hers…! didnt want it to go to waste!!!
