What should I blame this on…boredom or stir-craziness (haven’t been out of the apartment since Monday really - except for down the road to pick something up this evening)?
What am I talking about - surely everyone has done a Google search on their own name…right? Right?
For some reason I did mine today - but then it turned into something a bit crazy when I realized just how many variations of my name I have used…

Even though my Mum often referred to me as “Megan Jane” from an early age (usually with a tone of exasperation I might add) at primary school there seemed to be the strict adherence to “you will use only 2 names - first name and last”. But something just didn’t seem right…and when I was in High school I decided to insist upon the “Jane” part being added.Just seemed to have more rhythm to it…
As you can see there were quite a few results for this form - including a young showjumper who seems to be doing quite well, and a couple of minor actresses, the most surprising of which appears in several porn movies. None of the results referred to me - I had moved on from this name long before the web got popular (hope that comment doesn’t date me….)

Not surprisingly these were all me. The surprising thing was finding out what for. Number one linked to the University of Western Australia’s Computer Club. I’d completely forgotten that I’d designed a T-shirt for them a few years back and was listed on their sponsor page. The next one linked to an application for a radio license. I fell off my chair when I saw that one. But then I remembered that I’d done at least 2 live recordings for a wannabe community station in Sydney called fbi. I remember recording the gigs for the benefit gig at the hordern pavilion in 1995 and then editing it on the fly for a 3 hour broadcast on the following day (as if I could forget standing up mixing for 5 hours non-stop), but I’d forgotton about the live mixes I did when they did a test broadcast from Bondi Beach. I think I still have the tape of the recording of Custard kicking around here inTokyo somewhere…
The third one was from last year on a review I wrote of The Music for Smashing Mag.

I didn’t bother to check whether any of these were me. These three letters refer to stacks of people and things - diseases, physics and religions. The disease reference was fascinating - Machado-Joseph Disease It is among the commonest of the inherited ataxias in Japan, and families with MJD have been found in Brazil, China , India, Isreal. MJD has even been found among the aboriginal natives of Australia.
Better not mention this to the J-rellies…

I didn’t pop up on the first 3 pages - so I guess I don’t have any images online that can be referred to so easily. The other searches resulted in nothing. Even for the porn star.

I started to go by this quite I bit with work stuff. I didn’t check them all - but I do pop up on the 2nd page of results.

Yet another name change - and I agonised over this one. Of course it was a result of getting hitched with the Boy. Do I keep my own name, drop “Daniels” and adopt only “Sueyasu”, or end up with a sentence for a name? Well obviously I chose the last one…and since I believe I’m the only one out there with this name it came as no surprise to discover they all refer to me…haven’t had this name for long - obviously I’m running around the web a lot more.

Naturally when your name becomes a sentence you tend to shorten it…most of these link to websites I’ve built. *thinks about all the work she has coming up* I suspect this number to escalate in the next few months…
Did you make it down this far? Then you are either a true friend, or a masochist…:p

Most of them seem to be me, too. I’ve been around a while.
Hello! Yoshi and you are one of the cutest couples I can think of. However I have an identity crisis: who is j-ster? Is that Yoshi? Hmmm… I have missed some episodes…
A fan in Europe.
By the way I searched my name also: only one match and she is a secretary in California. As for me I’m still in the world of paper.
Don’t worry I’m not goimg to swamp every entry with my pointless ramblings: j-ster obviuosly isn’t Yoshi because I found a “she”. Don’t know where I got that idea from. Maybe you could do a bit presenting all the people that occur often. Bye!
