Did you ever wonder how the employees in department stores who have little access to windows know when to put out the umbrella condoms out and put a plastic cover over your bag when it’s raining?
It’s because the information ladies down the front look out for rain and when it starts, call in to the main office to tell them. They then play a special rain tune (usually some cheesy remix of a song about rain) which the employees then react to and prepare.
The song is different for every store apparently but the list ran across the screen too fast for me to note.

I’m glad you watch TV and can tell us these fascinating tidbits.
Reminds me of one time, years ago, I was in New York City with a Japanese friend and she said “Oh, no. It’s going to rain tomorrow...”
Looking up at the clear blue sky, I said “I don’t think so - why do you think?”
She pointed at the top of a nearby building that was displaying a big red neon umbrella, just like they do in Japan.
“Um, that’s the logo of the Travelers’ Life Insurance company...”
Oh i love trivia things like this.
I guess it is a little bit like places that play Auld Lang Syne when they are closing up shop...I find it hilarious they play a song that to me reminds of new years to tell there patrons to leave and get the hell out!!!
