Japanese Lesson #187

by MJD-S

Share

2 possibly vital expressions I learned yesterday:

すかしっ屁 (sukashippe) - describes a silent, but deadly fart.

にぎりっ屁 (nigirippe) - is when someone catches their own fart in their hand and releases it under the nose of another.

No wonder I don’t get invited to dinner parties…

    • Hey. You forgot the ever useful, “HE-GOKI-MUSHI”—-farting cockroach, that is, old guys that silently fart all the time, he, he, he.

          • Of course I confronted my friend in Tokyo with this as follows:

            > I didn’t even know that nigirippe was possible!

            His reply:

Very useful, I do “nigirippe”  frequentry.
Surely I can, You should try it!

Thankyou MJ, I’m getting some good cross-cultural communication now! And no, I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT change any “l"s into “r"s.
