Sick in bed today with a roaming ear infection, slight fever and the aches.
Still here in Exciting Hiratsuka you don’t really have to even leave your bed to be a part of the community - especially when your local matsuri comes to you.
They came from Hachimangu temple - the main one in Hiratsuka - but I’m not sure why. Several people stood by looking surprised as they drove off beating their drums.
Not sure what was the stranger vision though - the mobile matsuri or the gaijin girl in red tartan pajamas at 3 o’clock in the afternoon on her balcony taking snaps.
Anyway time for me to go back to bed I think.

OH My…what a surprize!!! I also have google’s blog in English and live in Japan! Very nice 2 meet you in Flickr’s Photogroup, never ever noticed that you’re from my country…! Great, in my E-blog I also have more foreign friends live in JPN. If you like, visit mine! Juxtarposer’s Canadian girl Mandy is also used to live in Hiratsuka, I got an envelop from her today - for the thanx message & transportation cost for giving her my granny’s used Kimono!!! :D
That’s too funny. Delivery Matsuri. I rather like that. Sorry you’re feeling under the weather, but no better past-time than what you saw!!
I used to love the sound of the wooden loud “click, click” sound (for lack of something more adequate) when during the winter, my neighborhood honcho folks walked around for hinoyojin. I would be tucked in bed with my electric blanket, freezing my nose and ears off, when I’d hear them walk by. Very comforting.
Such are the things that make Tokyo so endearing that I will always feel it inside me.
