Just finished what amounts to being the crappiest story so far amongst these romantic pseudo-porn manga. Let me share the synopsis with you:

Mina is a girl who works at a bank. She’s alwys been a good girl - and as a result has turned out ot be a dowdy hag. Her younger sister is very cute and popular with the boys. Mina hates herself.

She goes to a go-kon (a blind date party - usually 3 guys and 3 girls) and meets with Kenji - spunky and popular with the girls. On her way back from the dunny she overhears Kenji saying that she is his target!? How is this possible!?

Kenji sits down with her and suggests they go get a drink somewhere alone - Mina agrees - but she’s nervous and confused - why her!? How is this possible!?

Naturally they end up at a love hotel - Mina agrees after all nothing interesting happens to her anyway so she may as well give in to being presssured to have sex with Kenji. Still she can’t believe what is happening! How is this possible!?

She confesses that she is still a virgin - and he promises to be gentle. They do it and - although it hurts - it feels good. She gets up to leave knowing that it was just a one-off thing and she shouldn’t expect anything. But Kenji insists she stay to cuddle…How is this possible!?

When he drops her off, Mina sure it’s the last time she’ll see him but he asks her if she’ll be his girlfriend - it’s a miracle!

Everyone notices the changes in her. Suddenly she’s a go-getter at work and nice to everyone. Her face has changed. Suddenly she’s blonde and the perfect woman. A complete transformation all because she lost her virginity!

And it’s not all one-sided either - after sleeping with her Kenji decides that he should get a job! It all turns out fabulous!

Almost 30 pages of this dribble - urrrrgh, no wonder I felt the bile rising…I don’t recall this kind of transformation in my life after my first time - I mostly remember having a bastard hangover and then having to go to the doctors a couple of days after to get antibiotics for a urinary tract infection.

Is it really such a big passage in life to do the wild thing for the first time? I can’t recall any of my friends claiming it to have been a fabulous experience…let alone enlightening…

God I need a drink - and it’s way before noon…3 more books to go…
