quake 10:57am

by MJD-S

3 in Kanagawa.

No tsunami warning.

Magnitude 4.4, epicentre in Chiba, 80 kms down.

2 across Tokyo and Chiba.

Comment: Boy was the department slow with that one! Took 5 minutes for the report to show up on telly!

Comment: It’s certainly interesting to observe how most of the ones that originate in Chiba affect us here in Kanagawa much more than Tokyo.

I think there is a small fault between your location and Tokyo so you are probably sitting on the same plate as Chiba. Tokyo is on the neighbouring one.

I remember seeing a TV program where they showed buildings on the fault (near Miura? Yososuka?). They mosaics on the names to “avoid confusion” but showed a gas station that was right on it…

      • Oooo interesting. I have tried tracking down this kind of info online but have not had much success so far.
