6 in Aomori. Strong 6 in Iwate. Filtering down to 5, 4 and 3 down Honshu.
No tsunami warning has been issued.
Magnitude 6.8. Epicentre in Iwate-ken.
That went for a long time. Slow, creeping start - then steady shaking.
Reports coming from the area (via NHK) say that the shaking started slowly then suddenly increased to a voilent shaking. So far no reports of damage - most major buildings initially appear to remain intact.
