We’ve just had a 5 in Kanagawa, centred near Odawara.
Odawara and Hakone have had a strong 5.
Tsunami warning has been canceled.
Went for a considerable time! Wasn’t sure whether I could keep a hold on the turtle tank there.

From tenki.jp
Update 2:25am: Main areas affected - Kanagawa - Odawara, Hakone, Shizuoka/Izu - Atami. Japanese rating 4 - 2 across the rest of the area.
Update 2:40am: So far life lines have not been affected. Atami is still lit up like a Christmas tree. Trains are not expected t be affected at this stage.
Seems that it was quite localized in strength to Odawara/Hakone. Most people in Tokyo and Chiba would not have noticed as it was mainly a 2/1 in those areas.
Update 3:00am: Magnitude 4.9. Elevators and traffic signals are out - but it seems so far that the damage is very limited. No injuries have been reported. Trains are still expected to run as normal, expect for the first couple of scheduled shinkansen which will run slower between Shin Yokohama and Atami.
No tsunami are expected, but it is suspected that there will be further quakes in this area.
NHK have just rung up the owner of a Lawson convenience store in Odawara for a live report. Apparently a couple of things have fallen off shelves. Everyone they’ve rang has sounded very relieved that they don’t have much to report.
There has been lots of quake activity in the Pacific today the BBC News reports - with earthquakes around New Zealand and Guam. Australia even had a tsunami warning in place for a few hours.
A slightly interesting aspect is that later today the new earthquake early warning system will be launched in Japan (JMA). Obviously not a moment too soon.
