Thanks MJ. I haven’t been to a tanabata fest. for a while…great pics that make me me feel natsukashii (what word in English even comes close to that?). Summer festivals in Japan are the best.
The gaudier the better! Those decorations are beautiful, like a Mexican fiesta. I haven’t seen anything like that here.
Mie - there is no good English word for “natsukashii” - “nostalgic” sounds so clumsy doesn’t it?
Nils - well Kyoto doesn’t do tacky as well as Hiratsuka (~^)
