the dynamites

A night of Japanese rockabilly may sound frightening - but actually it was a lot of fun!

The first band that went on was a bit too typical rock - had every cliche down pat (even the guitarist playing a riff with the guitar behind his head - how ‘83) - so we just snuggled down to our beers and waited for it to pass. The next band on looked like it had some potential - they had managed to cram a lot of people onto the circular stage complete with pole (it’s usually a strip joint) - when they played it was good but there was way too much MC - and not very entertaining MC at that, so I spiced it up with some well-timed smart arse comments in Japanese - which was probably naughty of me but at least had the audience (and most of the band) laughing.

Then it was time for The Dynamites. They are good to watch - all of them are very cute!

Oh the music’s not bad either - had a decent bop (even the Boy moved his body in time).

It was more fun hanging out with them and gossiping after though…
