Why Flickr is fun

by MJD-S
Being a New Media Child I have found myself invited to just about every "networking" site out there. I follow my invite link sign up, chuck together a profile and then... ...promptly forget I'm a member. Flickr however is turning out to be different. For starters I love the Flash integration. Then it's just really fun seeing what people everywhere are taking piccies of. Then as I feel the encouragement to post more piccies myself I've started looking around me in a different way. I suspect it's only a matter of time (hours?) before I take the plunge and go pro. I'm a snap-shot type of photographer (yes I'm sure you've realized this already) so I'm a little shy about proclaming myself as "pro". Maybe it should have been a different word - although "pro" is a lot shorter than "people willing to pay to play around with this fun stuff online". Another thing that's cool is how friendly the community seems to be. People leave nice comments and even favourite your pics! Yes kids, that is how desperate I am for positive interaction! I guess in a way it's like blogging, but on a smaller scale ie one site as opposed to the entire "internets". My Flickr thingie is here. Let's see if it can hold my attention for more than a month (~^)
